About the BCWA
What is the BCWA?
The Buffalo Creek Watershed Alliance is a non-profit organization whose members include individuals and organizations that care about maintaining and improving the resources of the Buffalo Creek Watershed. The purpose of the Alliance is to encourage ecologically responsible stewardship of Buffalo Creek, its tributaries, and the environment within its watershed.
Our watershed provides the water we drink, the food we grow, the places we liveand work and the scenic beauty we enjoy. Protecting our watershed now is more economical and easier than cleaning it up after it has become impaired from pollution.
Alliance Activities
- Water quality monitoring
- Stream restoration and habitat improvement projects such as buffer plantings
- Scientific research within the watershed
- Stream cleanups to remove debris and litter
- Public education about stream and watershed management and conservation
Board of Directors: 2010-11
